ENVIRONMENTAL STORYTELLING

I place great importance on environmental storytelling in the games I create, as it is an immersive way to convey narrative information.

EXAMPLE

I created this environmental storytelling document as part of a one-month exercise with two fellow game designers.

We had to create a train car for a walking simulator in which you can only move and examine the environment Players should  find out what happened, where the train is going, who the passengers were, and deduce their next objective.

After detailing the narrative layers, we created and described a bar car scene and a props list, consisting of various objects and corpses scattered throughout the bar car.
